Update regarding UK / EU books

A quick update regarding UK / EU books. If you have been reading the comments, you will have seen all of this information from John, the head of the company. However, I know not everyone checks the comment threads regularly, so this way you all get kept in the loop.

The head of Wildside, John, has spent the past month corresponding with our printer, trying to ensure that the UK and EU copies of the book would be sent out on time, and then demanding an explanation when they were delayed. He has been working very hard to get this problem fixed, and we are all very frustrated and sorry that delays have happened despite assurances by the printer that the books would be shipped the week of August 27.

According to our printer, the delay was caused by problems with the receiving shipper in the UK. The printer claims that the UK and EU copies of the book were ready weeks ago, but were held by the receiving shipper instead of being sent out. They claim that there were issues with paperwork and storage fees which contributed to the delay. At the moment, we cannot confirm whether this is the case or not, this is simply what we were told. However, the printer has stated that they have fixed the problem and that the books are in the process of being sent out. We have told them that we expect to receive tracking numbers immediately, to confirm that the books have in fact shipped.

John has been posting text of the discussion between himself and the printer in the comments section of the campaign, so all of you can see what has been going on.

If you are one of our UK or EU based backers waiting on a hard copy of the book, once your book arrives please leave a comment to that effect on this campaign. That way we can confirm that the printer has begun shipping them, as they claim. Or hashtag it #wildsidepress and #frozenhell .

Again, we are very sorry for the delays and for any inconvenience this has caused any of you. We are extremely frustrated at the situation and we are doing everything in our power to get it fixed ASAP.

Thank you so much and I hope you are having a great week.

Short  Things is in the home stretch and will be with you this September. We  had some delays with it via some of the artists and writers, but we are on track to get it in your hands soon. On a much sadder note, we lost  the incredibly talented Allan Cole this year. We are honored to publish  his last story in Short Things, and we are forever grateful for his amazing talent. He will be missed.

NEWS FOR UK / EU BACKERS:

The  printer just updated us: "the books did ship from the US on time but  had problems getting into the UK and clearing customs. We are  researching into this to find out the exact date the books will be  arriving at the correct place in the UK."

We will post an update when we have specific shipping info.

LEATHERBOUND SHIPPING:

About  75% of the 100-copy red edition and 30% of the brown leatherbound  edition have shipped. (We are shipping them ourselves to make sure they  are properly packed.) These are going out with tracking numbers, so you  can follow your copy's progress if you have one coming. The blue,  26-copy lettered edition is still waiting on the custom cases, but the  books themselves are ready.

BOOKMARKS/BOOKPLATES

The  bookmarks and bookplates are now in-hand. They are shipping out with  the leatherbound copies, and once those are all out, we will ship in  envelopes to other customers who ordered them.

Remember that if you have already gotten your copies, do let us know via hashtagging

After  everything is set with Frozen Hell and Short Things you will be the  first to know about our next Kickstarter campaign. The only hint you are  getting for now is that it has to do with cats and books.

Thank you so much !

Update on production and shipping for Frozen Hell / Short Things
over 5 years ago – Sat, Aug 10, 2019 at 03:08:24 AM

Just a couple of quick updates.

  • U.S. / CANADA SHIPPING

U.S. and Canadian shipping for the trade hardcover (the one with the dust jacket) and the paperback are complete and should be in everyone's hands at this point. I know a few have been lost in transit, based on posts here. (A .5% loss rate would be about 25 copies). If you did not receive yours, send me a private message with your address and I will investigate further and send out replacements when appropriate. (We had a couple of people order ebooks but think they were getting the paperbacks, which is why I verify all orders.)

  • SHIPPING TO OTHER COUNTRIES IS UNDERWAY

Please post here when you receive your copies in the U.K. and E.U., so others know they have begun to arrive.

  • LEATHERBOUND SHIPPNIG

About  75% of the 100-copy red edition and 30% of the brown leatherbound edition have shipped. (I am shipping them myself to make sure they are properly packed.) These are going out with tracking numbers, so you can follow your copy's progress if you  have one coming. The blue, 26-copy lettered edition is still waiting on the custom cases. The books are here.

  • BOOKMARKS/BOOKPLATES

The bookmarks and bookplates are now in-hand. They are shipping out with the leatherbound copies, and once those are all out, I will ship in envelopes to other customers who ordered them.

  • SHORT THINGS.

All the short stories are done; we're waiting on a few pieces of art, which are expected this week. The plan is to get it to the printer by the end of August.
